Hey Reader, It's Friday, so I thought this would be the perfect time to get our mindset right for the weekend. And what's the best way to do that? A STORY, of course.
Okay, fine... maybe it's not that deep, but I bet this will be super helpful. Earlier this week, I came across a post asking, 'What's the hardest part of wedding planning?' And, honestly, the responses didn’t surprise me—but they were completely disheartening. The list was long, and the struggles? Oh, they were all too familiar:
These weren’t just quick, one-line answers either. These were paragraphs from brides who are suffering through this process. They’re hating it. They just want it to be over. This is not what they expected, not what they hoped for, not what they deserve. And it got me thinking… When we focus on what’s hard, we draw even more attention to it. The truth is, we attract what we focus on. So, if we’re constantly giving energy to what’s difficult, we’re going to keep feeling that way. When we remind ourselves of what we hate, we’re going to feel worse. It’s not just a feeling—it’s a law. (Yep, the Law of Attraction.) So, naturally, I did what I do—I flipped it. I posted something encouraging in that same group, asking brides to focus on what they’re loving about wedding planning. And guess what? Total fucking crickets. Not a like, not a comment, nothing. Why do you think that is? Because we don’t talk about what we LOVE in this process. We focus on our frustrations. BUT I THINK WE SHOULD. Why? To feel better. To experience more of what we LOVE instead of what we dread. So, let’s flip the script this weekend:What part of planning your wedding are you LOVING right now? Take a moment to soak that in, celebrate the parts that are bringing you joy, and let the rest fall away. You deserve a wedding journey filled with love and light, not stress and overwhelm. You’ve got this! And if you need a little more support in flipping that script, check out the Wedding Well-Being series on the Hey Bride Podcast. It’s packed with tips and inspiration to help you navigate this exciting chapter with more confidence and ease. Wishing you a weekend filled with love, light, and a whole lot of FUCK YES. ❤️ Xoxo - Your Wedding Wing-Woman, |
